Into the waters of “Shark Island”

Fuvahmulah - Maldives

An 8-day / 7-night shark diving expedition to Fuvahmulah, the "Shark Island" of the Maldives. Uncaged encounters with resident tiger sharks, thresher sharks, hammerheads, oceanic mantas and thriving pelagic life.

Who is this trip for?

This expedition is for Advanced Open Water certified divers who dream of coming face to face with tiger sharks in the wild, respectfully and safely. Fuvahmulah has no surrounding reef, so the open ocean brings large pelagic life close to the island year-round.

Dives here can include currents, blue water and depths of up to 30 meters (100 ft.), so participants should feel confident with buoyancy control and have at least 50 logged dives.

It’s ideal for ocean lovers, underwater photographers and adventurous travelers who want more than just a dive trip: a chance to understand these animals, learn about their role in the ocean and become part of their protection.

Join me and a small group of ocean lovers for the most unforgettable shark encounters of your life.

Fuvahmulah - The “Shark Island” of the Maldives

What you’ll encounter:

Fuvahmulah is known as the shark island of the Maldives. It sits alone in the open ocean, with deep blue water just meters from its shores, which brings big pelagic life right to the island. Tiger sharks are seen every single day. But it’s not only about the big encounters: the island’s reefs are stunning, with pristine coral, dramatic drop-offs and walls full of life, making every reef dive a highlight of its own.

These are wild animals living freely in the open ocean, so no sighting can ever be guaranteed, and that’s part of the magic. Every dive is a search, and every encounter is earned. The good news? All of these species call Fuvahmulah’s waters home and are regularly spotted around the island.
